Wow, moving out of home is expensive

Hey guys,
The other day I received my first electricity bill. $195 for 28 days. No, we haven't had Australia's best Christmas lights on our house, nor have we been running a tanning studio in our backyard, we have just been a bit screwed over the electricity company. Sorry I would mention their name but I'm still scared of getting sued.
What the problem we discovered was, is that instead of having an annoying little man to come out and read the meter every 3 months, we have a bill based on guesswork (estimation). What this company does is takes a guess at what the bill should be, and charges us for it unless we ring up with the correct reading and have the bill fixed. Pretty average hey?
After getting that bill and a pow wow with the other tenants, we decided we better stick to candles for light and a campfire out the back for cooking... actually I'm pretty sure we're in the middle of total fire ban days so forget that idea.
Bring on the water bill!
